Response Times
How long will it take you to mail my letters?
Quick Answer
90% of mailings from the past 14 days were sent within 1 day, 5 hours, and 25 minutes.
When you've finished writing your prayer letter, you want it to be in the mail as quickly as possible.
Our goal is to get your letters in the mail within two business days – even during the busiest times of year, and even when equipment breaks down.
Most of the year, we send letters either the same day or the next day.
Are response times guaranteed?
We don't guarantee response times – if we did, we'd have to build the cost of the guarantee into our prices, and we'd rather not have to do that.
However, to show that we're serious about meeting this goal, we do publish the 90th percentile of our response times, shown above. It updates automatically, at least twice per day.
The clock starts when your mailing shows up on our web site, and it stops when we've finished preparing the letters for delivery, with a few exceptions:
Weekends. The clock stops running at midnight on Friday night, and starts running again at midnight Monday morning.
Holidays. We're closed on postal holidays. We also close occasionally for vacation, usually during the summer (these times get posted well in advance).
Awaiting Feedback. If we've E-Mailed you and are awaiting a response (preview approval, payment, or other questions), that time doesn't count.
I'm really in a hurry. Can you go faster?
If you'd like to have your letters in the mail as quickly as possible, here are some tips:
Use the “Send Yesterday” Upgrade – check this box when sending your order, and it will be prioritized as if it had been submitted a full business day earlier. This will almost always result in same-day or next-day service.
Send in the middle of the week – since we take the weekends off, the queue is longest early in the week. Wednesday and Thursday afternoons tend to be fairly quiet in comparison.
Send single-page letters – these don't take as much time to proofread (provided you don't pack two pages of text into one page), and are easy to print.
Skip the preview step – if you generally don't have any problems with the preview, consider skipping it. We'll print your letter as soon as we've done our own quality checks.
Avoid mail merges – these take longer to print, and require more attention to make sure everything stays lined up, so they get a slightly lower priority.
Of course, if you don't follow any of these tips, we'll still do our best to get your letters sent within two business days. These tips will help you get our very fastest response times.
