Before you connect MPDX to your prayerletters.com account, download a backup of your mailing list, since it will be replaced by your MPDX contacts. Too late for this advice? Contact us as soon as possible. We may have a backup of your contacts that we can restore to you.

To sync your account, log into MPDX and click the Settings button in the top right corner of MPDX (a gear), then Connect Services, and you'll find us there. Expand the prayerletters.com option and connect your account.

Shortly thereafter, any contacts with the Newsletter field set to either Physical or Both will appear on your prayerletters.com account.

Confirm your mailing list now has the expected number of contacts – the total is shown at the bottom of the page. Take a quick look at the name ("Envelope Greeting" in MPDX) and Greeting fields to ensure they look as expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there extra/duplicate contacts?

Check whether you have contacts that were hidden in MPDX rather than being deleted. Go to Contacts, then Filters, expand the Status filter, and select All Hidden. If a hidden contact's Newsletter field is still set to Physical or Both, the information from their address fields could still be syncing. Changing the Newsletter status to None should stop them from syncing with us.

Why aren't all my newsletter contacts showing up?

First, ensure that missing contacts have their Newsletter field set to "Physical" or "Both" in MPDX. The following fields must also be set:

  • Name
  • Envelope Greeting
  • Address fields (Street, City, State, and ZIP)
  • The checkbox under the address called "Address no longer valid" must not be checked.

You can use MPDX's filters to look for your missing contacts. To find contacts that don't have an address, set the Address Type filter to Primary and then toggle it to the reverse to see contacts without an address. Set Newsletter Recipients to Physical and Both to limit results to relevant contacts. It may also be useful to do a search for City set to None, in the event that the Street address contains the complete address information, which can happen if you've copied addresses from another database.

If you're still missing contacts, please contact MPDX support for further assistance, letting them know what you've tried so far. If there's a communication problem between our respective sites, they'll be able to gather details from their logs that we'll need to do further troubleshooting.

How do I send a mailing to a custom group of people?

You can use filters, tags or the appeal feature to create custom mailing lists in MPDX.
